GLOBAL CLIMATE STRIKE | POSTER

The biggest climate mobilisation in history

20-27 of September 2019, saw a record 7.6 million people take to the streets and strike for climate action.

I took to the streets with my placard. This gained mass media coverage from The Guardian, BBC, Mirror, Daily Mail, Evening Standard and many more.

The design went viral, gathering over 55k likes on Instagram and was reposted by Mike Skinner, Vice UK, Boobalou and Radio X.

My design was awarded ‘Most Impactful Work’ by Create & Strike, the global coalition of more than 160 creative companies in support of the Global Climate Strike. The shortlist was judged by Frances Morris, Emily Eavis, Edgar Wright, Bridget Angear, Rankin and organisers from the UK student climate network. It will now feature in the Tate Archives.

Frances Morris quoted: 'Simple use of sans serif black typography set against a brilliant colour. Reminds me of vintage activism. The crisp deadpan humour is worthy of Jenny Holzer or Ed Ruscha. Chilling.'
