‘Music is life itself’ - Louis Armstrong

Nothing comes close to experiencing live music. Literally nothing.

Ever since I went to see Editors with my Dad back in 2007 – I’ve been hooked. 

You see I love every little thing about going to a gig. Trying to get out of work on time, the excitement travelling to the venue, pre gig beers, buzzing in the queue with your ticket in hand, the smell of stale beer from the night before, the sticky floor, waiting for the lights to go out, the post-mosh ache or sore throat from shouting all the lyrics. 

But the thing I love the absolute most, is the music. I like everything. Bit of this. Bit of that. Keeping your ears open. 

And because I like everything I’ve kept a list of all the different artists I’ve seen in the flesh over the years. 

Then COVID put an end to live music. So I wanted to create a personal piece that encompasses everything I’ve listened to live over the years, using the artist names as the literal grooves on a 12” record. Commemorating the many memories I’ve had with family, friends and thousands of other strangers have shared whilst at a gig. I love it. 

Music is life. Life is music.
